About

ALAENERGIES LIMITED is a Tanzanian downstream petroleum company based in Dar es Salaam.

ALAENERGIES LIMITED is a Tanzanian downstream petroleum company based in Dar es Salaam. We supply fuels, liquefied petroleum gas and lubricants, and we provide the storage, filling and distribution services that move them from the coast to the customer.

The company is privately held and founder-led, registered in Tanzania as a private company limited by shares under the Companies Act (Cap. 212). Its registered scope covers the wholesale and retail supply of petroleum products, service stations, LPG and CNG, lubricants and solar.

What we do

Our work divides into two halves that support each other.

We supply product: petrol, diesel, kerosene, Jet A-1 and heavy fuel oil, LPG in cylinders and in bulk, and lubricants for road, marine and industrial use. Most of that volume goes to the trade — oil marketing companies, wholesalers, dealers, transport fleets, mining and construction operations, and manufacturers.

We also provide services around product: bulk storage and hosting for companies that need registered capacity without owning a terminal, LPG cylinder filling, road tanker distribution, and cross-border supply to the markets inland of Dar es Salaam.

Our approach

Measurement is the business

Retail fuel prices in Tanzania are capped monthly by the regulator, and imported product is priced through a procurement system common to the whole market. Price is not a lever available to us. What is left is volume, service quality and loss control — and losses stay invisible until somebody measures them.

We therefore run the company on daily stock reconciliation, calibrated metering, and a documented trail from receipt through to the customer’s tank, using an operating platform we develop and maintain ourselves rather than spreadsheets assembled at month end.

Reliability over promises

In this sector a customer is not really buying a litre of diesel; they are buying the confidence that it will arrive, in full, on the day agreed. Our planning, fleet scheduling and stock policy are built around meeting the delivery window rather than around quoting an optimistic one.

Straight dealing

We describe our position accurately, we quote what we can actually supply, and we would rather decline a job than accept one we cannot serve properly. Customers, banks and regulators in this industry verify what they are told, and a company found overstating once is not believed again.

Health, safety and environment

Fuel and gas are unforgiving of shortcuts. Safety is treated as an operating requirement rather than a compliance exercise, and it shapes decisions that are easy to skip: how sites are laid out, how drivers are trained and rostered, how cylinders are inspected before they leave, and what happens in the first two minutes of a spill or a fire.

Environmental obligations are handled in the same spirit — containment, spill response and waste handling designed in from the start, not added after an inspection.

Licensing and certification

Petroleum handling in Tanzania is licensed and inspected, and rightly so. We hold the licences, permits and safety certifications required for the operations we carry out, and we maintain them as a condition of trading rather than as an annual scramble.

Documentation is available to customers, financiers and partners on request.

Where we operate

Our office is in Mikocheni, Dar es Salaam. We serve customers in Dar es Salaam and along the transport corridors inland, and we move transit volumes to neighbouring markets. Coverage extends as the distribution network grows.
