AlaEnergies
Services
Wholesale and B2B supply, storage and hosting, LPG cylinder filling, distribution and haulage, cross-border supply and retail service stations.
Most of what we do is business to business. We supply, store, fill and move petroleum product for the companies that sell it on — oil marketing companies, wholesalers, dealers and industrial users — as well as serving customers directly through the forecourt and the cylinder.
Wholesale and B2B supply
Contract supply of fuels to buyers who need certainty more than they need the last shilling off the price.
- Oil marketing companies and importers
- Wholesalers and regional distributors
- Independent dealers and service stations
- Transport and haulage fleets
- Mining, quarrying and construction operations
- Manufacturers and processors running boilers and generators
- Institutions, hospitals and schools with standby power
A supply agreement sets the products, the indicative volumes, the delivery points and the schedule. You get one point of contact who knows your account rather than a switchboard.
Storage and hosting
Bulk handling and storage of fuels and LPG — for our own product, and for product owned by others.
Under a hosting or hospitality arrangement the stock remains yours. We receive it, hold it and release it on your instruction, and charge for storage and throughput rather than taking a position on the product.
This matters more than it sounds. Registration as an oil marketing company under the bulk procurement system requires either your own storage facility or a hospitality agreement with someone who has one. For a company that would rather put its capital into trading than into tankage, hosted storage is the difference between being able to operate and not.
What hosting includes
- Receipt and gauging on arrival
- Segregated storage by product grade
- Road tanker loading with calibrated metering
- Stock statements and reconciliation
- Documentation to support your own regulatory reporting
LPG cylinder filling
Cylinder filling, weighing, sealing and valve inspection — for our own trade, and as a service to brands that need filling capacity without building a plant.
Filling is a weight-and-safety discipline, not a volume one. Every cylinder is filled to weight rather than by eye, sealed, and checked for valve and body condition before it leaves. A cylinder that is under-filled or damaged does not go out, because the customer who receives it has no way of checking and every reason to expect that we did.
Distribution and haulage
Road tanker delivery of bulk fuel and LPG, and distribution of filled cylinders, on our own fleet.
Delivery in Tanzania is a planning problem. Distances are long, road conditions vary by season, and a missed slot can idle a mine or empty a forecourt. We plan around delivery windows a customer can build a schedule on, and we would rather give you a realistic day than an optimistic one.
Fleet discipline is part of that: driver hours and rest, routine vehicle maintenance, and medical and eye checks for drivers. Tankers are only as safe as the person driving them.
Cross-border supply
Dar es Salaam is the sea gateway for a large landlocked region, and a substantial share of what lands here is destined inland.
We move transit volumes to neighbouring markets, and we treat the documentation as part of the delivery rather than an afterthought. Border delays on petroleum cargo are almost always paperwork delays — the wrong form, a mismatch between the manifest and the load, an expired authorisation. Getting that right before the truck moves is the whole job.
Retail service stations
Forecourts serving motorists, boda riders and local businesses.
Pump prices in Tanzania are capped monthly by the regulator, so no station competes on price. What is left is whether the site is open when you need it, whether the fuel is clean, whether the pump measures honestly, and whether the place is lit, safe and staffed by people who are glad you stopped.
For dealers
We are interested in talking to site owners and prospective dealers about supply and branding arrangements. If you hold a site or a licence and want to discuss it, get in touch.
Safety and compliance
Every one of these services is licensed and inspected. We hold the approvals and safety certifications required for the work we do, and we treat them as the working standard rather than as an inspection to be passed — in petroleum the paperwork and the safety case are the same document.
To discuss any of the above, see the contact page.
